Paula and Rich’s dinner party wedding at Bank Street Events…where do I even begin? The day was built around good food, good energy, and the kind of joy that doesn’t need a strict schedule to prove it’s real.

Their celebration leaned into everything they love: conversation, family history, a little glamour, and a night that felt more like a gathering than an event.
A City Setting That Felt Like Home

Bank Street Events sits right in the middle of Stamford, surrounded by historic architecture and city. It was the perfect backdrop for Paula and Rich’s dinner party wedding: this couple actually adores Stamford.
At the beginning of their day, we started portraits right outside on Bank Street itself. No retreating to a park, no overcomplicated commuting to another location. Just Paula and Rich stepping into the streets together, letting the city they enjoy become part of their story.
From there, they greeted guests as they arrived; hugs first, formalities later.
Short, Sweet, and Full of Applause

The ceremony of their dinner party wedding took place upstairs, at Bank Street Events’ half-moon opening overlooking the main floor below. It was brief, intentional, and joyful.
When Paula and Rich walked downstairs into cocktail hour, their guests cheered them straight into cocktail hour. The momentum of their smiles carried them right into some dancing and laughter.
That tone carried through the rest of the night. It was ironically beautiful to see: dozens of people in serious formalwear with nothing but happy smiles on their faces.
Weddings like this usually come together when people trust the feeling of the night more than the rules around it.
The Essence of a Wedding Dinner Party: Breaking Bread Together

Cocktail hour ended and everyone moved back upstairs for the heart of the evening: the dinner party itself.
Long tables were arranged in a rectangle, following the shape of the mezzanine. A glitzy sweetheart table sat at the center. From there, Paula and Rich thanked their guests–family, friends, children, nieces, nephews, siblings–the full circle of people who brought them here.
Each partner had a sibling give a touching speech that quieted the room in the best way. Paula, wearing elegant gloves, smiled the entire time. It was truly the kind of smile that doesn’t disappear when the camera isn’t watching.

It was so nice to see everything come together at this point in the night: the true essence of their dinner party wedding.
Dancing, Cake, and Staying Out Late

After dinner, this night at Bank Street Events loosened.
When the DJ, Kaos Productions, beckoned, guests flowed back downstairs. The bar stayed busy. The music had the place jumpin’. Everyone danced and no one had any interest in sitting down, even the most golden of guests.
Paula and Rich danced into the night, surrounded by the family they’ve built, together and over time.
The lighting was perfect, well complimented by my cinematic approach to photography.
Why This Dinner Party Wedding Worked

When you plan your wedding, you’re guaranteed to love the results if you plan it for vibes rather than “norms.” This wasn’t a wedding designed around tradition, it was designed around how Paula and Rich wanted it to feel.
They had all the great elements of a successful dinner party wedding:
- A strong wedding planner: shoutout to Lauren of Nikki Glekas Collective (we also worked together for this yacht club wedding)
- A stunning and functional venue: Bank Street Events (65 Bank St. in Stamford) is like a mini Society Room of Hartford
- Memorable food, drink, and service
- Community!
Not every wedding needs to be big. Some just need to be honest. These are always my favorite nights to photograph!
