What better way to welcome the first real snowstorm of the season than with Erin and Merrill’s LGBTQ New England wedding? Read on to hear a little bit about their magical day.

Their Engagement Session
Erin and Merrill’s wedding photography journey with me began in Providence.
Though they’re Boston-ites, these two were looking forward to visiting New England’s other big city for some photos at Providence Public Library.
It was freezing cold that day; this meant that their engagement session was actually subtle foreshadowing for their wintry LGBTQ New England wedding.

Here are the vendors who helped this LGBTQ New England wedding come together:

The Story of This LGBTQ New England Wedding
Erin and Merrill have built a life together in the Boston area. Therefore, it was only natural that they chose Grove at Briar Barn Inn as their wedding venue. Here’s how their day went:
Getting Ready
While Erin got herself ready upstairs at Grove, Merrill was supported by her attendants over in Briar Barn Inn.
It was cool to see them keep in touch while getting ready. Merrill even paid Erin a quick visit at one point.
First Look and Portraits
Adorned in a green Kirrin Finch suit, an excited Merrill stood in the Grove loft awaiting Erin’s signal. They turned around when Erin said the word, making for an awesome moment.
After their first look, we walked around the inside and outside of Grove for couple’s portraits. This was only part 1, as we were still eagerly awaiting the chance for snow.

Ceremony and Group Photos in the Barn
Once their guests arrived, it was time to kick off Erin and Merrill’s New England LGBTQ wedding ceremony.
The couple exchanged heartfelt, custom vows and had the whole space filled with tears and laughs. After, their guests enjoyed cocktail hour while Erin and Merrill joined their wedding party for photos.
Playing in the Snow
As a wedding photographer specializing in telling great stories and capturing creative portraits, I promised E&M that we’d get in the snow if it ever came. Fortunately, Mother Nature came through in a real way.
