Delamar Mystic Weddings
Yes, a Delamar Mystic wedding will be pretty. This is, after all, one of the best wedding towns in all of southern New England. There are plenty of wedding venues here. The water, the history, the walkable charm of the village. Delamar seeks to thrive in this.
This is a venue for couples who want their day to feel elevated, but not excessively so. It should be thoughtful rather than showy.
Delamar Mystic is the kind of place where everything works together quietly so the focus stays where it should: on the people, the moments, the views, and the experience you’re creating for everyone you love.

Delamar Mystic fits many venue categories…
Delamar Mystic: A New Wedding Spot, Old Village
Delamar Mystic, the village’s newest hotel and wedding venue, opened on Feburary 19, 2025. It’s owned by Greenwich Hospitality Group. There’s also a Delamar hotel in West Hartford (as well as a few others in the Delamar Hotel Collection).

The property itself is intentionally scaled; it’s big, but not huge. It’s nuzzled on a nice corner plot. The hotel has three floors, 31 rooms, and a 2600-square-foot ballroom. The latter is, of course, central to Delamar Mystic weddings.

Set along the Mystic River just outside the walkable downtown area, this whole area is filled with things to do. This is another thing that makes a Delamar Mystic wedding attractive.

The sense of place really matters: Mystic Seaport Museum is right next door, for example. Keeping with the nautical theme, decorations and artwork all over the property nod to the area’s sea-obsessed history.

There’s also a quiet lineage here. One of Delamar Mystic’s sibling venues is Inn at Longshore (which is supposedly the actual Great Gatsby inspiration, though the famed Society Room of Hartford is more known for this aesthetic).
How Delamar Mystic Balances Atmosphere with Practicality
As a wedding venue, Delamar Mystic works so well because it doesn’t force itself into a single category. Instead, it blends several experiences into one cohesive setting. This is exactly what a lot of many modern couples are looking for.

- On the one hand, it’s a hotel; this makes it great for destination weddings. Theconvenience factor is huge.
- Next, the property is waterside, sitting on the Mystic River; this location (plus the decorations in and around the property) brings in the nautical wedding venue theme.
- Lastly, the reception celebration takes place in the venue’s simple but elegant ballroom with a nice hint of luxury. Clean lines, thoughtful finishes, and natural light give the space a sense of elegance without excess.
The Hotel Rooms: Comfortable and Contemporary
Delamar Mystic’s rooms are modern, polished, and quietly comfortable. This is exactly what you want on a day that already carries enough energy of its own. You also end up feeling like the cost was worth it.

There are several types of rooms available, ranging from standard about 250 square feet with one bed all the way up to the 1600 square-foot, standalone cottage.
The cottage, in particular, is a favorite for Delamar Mystic weddings. It functions almost like a dedicated getting-ready house, offering space, privacy, and a calmer pace for one partner and their people.
Even beyond the rooms themselves, the hallways and common areas feel intentional. Clean design, good light, and subtle texture make them ideal for creative portraits that feel natural and elevated.
Amenities that Keep Things Easy
The amenities at Delamar Mystic are exactly what they should be: helpful, seamless, and never distracting. You and your guests get complimentary breakfast, minibars, Wi-Fi, etc.

There’s even a nice restaurant on site, La Plage. Mystic has plenty of rehearsal dinner and morning-after brunch spots to consider. The presence of a restaurant at the hotel, however, is an attractive option.

La Plage opens onto a deck overlooking the pool and Mystic River, creating a natural gathering space that feels social without being crowded.
Add in valet parking, and the entire experience during your wedding at Delamar (for both you and your guests) feels considered from start to finish.

Getting Outside
From the street, Delamar Mystic makes a strong first impression with its clean, centered, modern façade.

Off to the right, there’s a small lawn in between the cottage building and the ballroom section of the hotel.
Then behind the building, the ceremony lawn sits along the Mystic River, surrounded by water, docks, trees in the distance, and the soft geometry of the property itself. It’s open without feeling exposed, intimate without feeling enclosed.
The Mystic River, boat docks, forestry, and of course the beauty of the hotel are all around you.

After the ceremony, guests transition effortlessly into cocktail hour just outside La Plage, on the patio beside the pool. The layout encourages movement and conversation. Some guests will be gathering on the deck, others drifting down to the ceremony lawn, all with room to explore inside or by the water.
You and your guests will remark how well-maintained and clean Delamar Mystic’s exterior is. Throw in the modern touches and you have an ideal location for a wedding celebration in Mystic.
The Ballroom: Intimate Scale with Cinematic Light
After cocktail hour, the celebration moves into the ballroom at Delamar Mystic. It’s fairly intimate, not too oversized.

At just over 2200 square feet, the ballroom comfortably hosts up to 150 guests without ever feeling impersonal. This balance matters. The room feels full, energetic, and connected.

One of the ballroom’s strengths is its light. Large windows line one wall of the space, looking out at the river. As the sun lowers, warm evening light filters in, softening the room and setting the tone for the rest of the night.
This is a ballroom that doesn’t demand transformation; it’s just ready for smiles and good company.
Delamar Mystic Catering and Food
Mystic is known for food, so Delamar Mystic’s catering is top-notch:
- On the low end, the Saratoga package starts from $235/person and includes the basics (passed hors d’oeuvres up to tableside wine service).
- On the high end, the Morgan package is $405/person. This adds convenience like welcome wine, a raw bar, and late-night snacks.
Working with other local restaurants is also a possibility depending on how you’re planning your wedding. (The donuts in the photos are from Deviant Donuts, for example.)
Delamar Mystic Wedding Pricing
Delamar Mystic is a premium CT wedding venue. As such, it’s priced for luxury. Not, it isn’t the cheapest option in the area, and it isn’t trying to be.

General pricing components include a reception fee of $4000, a ceremony fee of $1000, and bar pricing starting from about $30/person.
Saturday weddings require a room block reservation of at least 10. And just to give you an idea, a standard room with a king bed starts from about $250 while a suite goes for closer to $500.
Why Couples Choose Delamar Mystic Over NYC
Many couples who choose Delamar Mystic looked seriously at New York venues first.
What brings them here is the balance: more space, more ease, and an experience that feels intentional without inflating the cost just to say it’s in the city.
Then, throw in the relaxed action of Mystic, a dash of luxury, and the waterside views of the Mystic River.

Delamar Mystic Wedding Photos
Some venues need to be “made” beautiful. Delamar Mystic already is; this allows photography to focus on intent and story instead of compensation.

Clean lines, neutral tones, reflective water, and consistent light mean the images feel natural, cinematic, and honest. The venue supports real moments rather than competing with them. And what’s more, you’re in Mystic. With careful planning, you can head to other nearby locations for portraits.
