History of Delamar Mystic

Delamar Mystic, the village’s newest hotel and wedding venue, opened on Feburary 19, 2025. It’s owned by Greenwich Hospitality Group. There’s also a Delamar hotel in West Hartford (as well as a few others in the Delamar Hotel Collection).

The hotel has three floors, 31 rooms, and a 2600-square-foot ballroom. The latter is, of course, central to Delamar Mystic weddings.

Guests play a yard game on the lawn next to the Mystic River during a Delamar Mystic wedding.

It’s located along the Mystic River just outside of downtown Mystic, next to Mystic Seaport Museum. Keeping with the nautical theme, decorations and artwork all over the property nod to the area’s sea-obsessed history.

Mystic is one of the state’s most popular towns, filled with things to do. This is another thing that makes a Delamar Mystic wedding attractive.

Another interesting wedding fact is that one of Delamar Mystic’s sibling venues is Inn at Longshore (which is supposedly the actual Great Gatsby inspiration, though the famed Society Room of Hartford is more known for this aesthetic).

Delamar Mystic Venue Vibe and Features

As a wedding venue, Delamar Mystic spans multiple categories:

A newly-married couple embraces during their Delamar Mystic wedding day with the Mystic River and trees in the background.
  • On the one hand, it’s a hotel; this makes it great for destination weddings.
  • Next, the property is waterside, sitting on the Mystic River; this location (plus the decorations in and around the property) brings in the nautical wedding venue theme.
  • Lastly, receptions take place in the venue’s simple but elegant ballroom.

Here’s a quick walkthrough of the venue:

The Hotel Rooms

As a hotel, Delamar Mystic is modern and polished.

There are five types of rooms, ranging from standard about 250 square feet with one bed all the way up to the 1600 square-foot, standalone cottage.

The cottage is a must-see when you’re planning your Delamar Mystic wedding: it’s basically a small getting ready house for one partner’s side.

The hallways and common areas are very nice as well, providing some good opportunities for creative portraits on your wedding day.

Amenities

Of course, Delamar Mystic offers the standard amenities to guests: complimentary breakfast, minibars, Wi-Fi, etc.

There’s a restaurant on site, La Plage. Mystic has plenty of rehearsal dinner and morning-after brunch spots to consider. The presence of a restaurant at the hotel, however, is an attractive option.

La Plage opens up to a deck with a veranda, pool, and great views of Mystic River.

When you have a wedding at Delamar, you also get some convenient valet parking.

Outside

Outside, Delamar Mystic is about what you’d expect for a brand-new hotel in Mystic: absolutely beautiful.

Out front, guests are greeted by the modern façade of the hotel. Off to the right, there’s a small lawn in between the cottage building and the ballroom section of the hotel.

The real magic of a Delamar Mystic wedding, however, is behind the hotel. Your wedding ceremony takes place on the lawn. Here, you have great views all around.

The Mystic River, boat docks, forestry, and of course the beauty of the hotel are all around you.

After your ceremony, cocktail hour takes place just outside of La Plage, next to the pool. There’s plenty of space here and it’s convenient that the staircase leads to the ceremony lawn for even more space to mingle and take photos.
