Overview of Grove at Briar Barn Inn

Briar Barn Inn represents a piece of New England history enriched with modern touches. The Town of Rowley, MA is almost 400 years old while the inn only opened in 2019.

Briar Barn Inn is operated by Bramble Hospitality. It’s the sister venue to the renowned Willowdale Estate in nearby Topsfield.

Prime New England Location

Rowley has a population of about 6000 and is located in the North Shore area of Massachusetts, Briar Barn Inn boasts a picturesque and convenient setting.

Close to notable destinations like Newburyport, Gloucester, and Hampton Beach, it provides a stunning backdrop for wedding photos and opportunities for an unforgettable New England experience.

Grove Wedding Venue Vibe and Features

The Grounds

The grounds of the Grove at Briar Barn Inn are intimate and well-kept. The outdoor terrace, adorned with bistro lights, provides a charming setting for ceremonies, cocktail hours, and portraits. There’s also outdoor space for lawn games and socializing.

Grove

Grove, which is the actual barn at Briar Barn Inn, is the venue’s heart and offers a rustic yet elegant reception setting. Its post-and-beam construction creates a warm and inviting atmosphere, ideal for memorable wedding moments. It’s a little over 3000 square feet in size.

In the main room, Grove advertises that they can fit 50–100 people for a wedding celebration. This includes room for dining, a sweetheart table, a dancefloor in the center, and a large bar right there in the room. (There’s a loft overhead, but that’s unusable storage space of this writing.)

Past the bar is a second room at Grove that is great for cocktail hour. If you have an indoor ceremony (such as for a winter wedding), your guests will be ushered there while the main area is changed over.

Upstairs is a nice getting ready area for one partner (if you’re getting ready separately, the second partner could conveniently get ready in a room in the inn). There’s also a loft area (which is completely separate from the one previously mentioned) and a really cool stained glass window.

Of course, one of the best perks of a Grove at Briar Barn Inn wedding is the inn itself. Because of it, Grove is essentially a inn/hotel wedding venue.

Whether you and your guests expect to party hard or not, it’s very convenient to be able to spend the night in the inn before and after your Grove Rowley wedding.

Actually, the inn also has other event spaces for Bar Barn weddings. The Burrow can accommodate 24 people while Bramble House can accommodate 32.

So if you’re interested in additional minimony options (or some kind of unique wedding idea where you’d like to have additional space beyond Grove), these spaces can help you think outside the box.

The Spa

The spa at Briar Barn Inn offers a haven for rejuvenation. With three distinct treatment rooms providing various services, guests can unwind and prepare for the festivities. Massage services are conducted in a private suite near the Inn’s entrance.

Though the Briar Barn Inn spa lacks amenities like a formal lounge or sauna, guests can purchase a pool pass for relaxation during warm weather.

This makes the spa a perfect addition to the wedding weekend, allowing guests to relax and enjoy the inn’s rustic charm.

The Food at Grove

As a “day job,” Grove at Briar Barn Inn is actually a really great restaurant. At the time I published this post, the restaurant had a 4.8-star rating from over 400 reviews on Google. That’s exceptional and for good reason.
