Where to Get Married in Hartford
True Connecticut people appreciate our capital city of Hartford. From great restaurants, to sports, to awesome bars and restaurants, Hartford is also a top candidate for places to get married.
Sure, there’s the city itself and plenty of Hartford wedding venues to consider. But when you consider Greater Hartford as a whole, you’ll realize that there are some top wedding venues near Hartford, too.
The Best Hartford Wedding Venues
To start, here are some of the best Hartford wedding venues, located in the city itself.
The Society Room of Hartford
Located in regal downtown Hartford, The Society Room of Hartford is a former bank with 3000 square feet of elegance to prove it. From the getting ready suites to the main ballroom to the outdoor convenience of Pratt Street, this indoor venue is perfect for those looking for city wedding venue vibes.
The Hartford Club
A former hangout of Mark Twain’s, The Hartford Club is a mansion wedding venue located downtown on Prospect Street. Like The Society Room, you’ll get great opportunities for city portraits and have some old school feels as far as décor. Service here is great, too.
Hartford City Hall / Capitol Building
For both elopements and full-blown weddings alike, Hartford City Hall features some of our state’s best architecture. Both your ceremony and reception can take place here.
More Hartford County Wedding Venues
There are plenty of other great locations in this area to consider that aren’t in the city itself. Here are some Hartford County wedding venues.
The Lodge at Maneeley’s
Simple, rustic, and beautiful, South Windsor’s The Lodge at Maneeley’s has decades of experience perfecting their wedding experience. This wedding venue is near Hartford (about 15 minutes away) and sits on a pretty large property. They can actually accommodate both indoor and outdoor ceremonies, then you’ll enjoy an awesome reception in the rustic interior.
Pond House Café
A staple of the Hartford region, West Hartford’s Pond House Café is on the same property as the city’s famous Elizabeth Park. This venue can host an outdoor ceremony in the enclosed patio and then a fun reception indoors.
Elizabeth Park
Perfect for an elopement in the gardens or as a portrait location during your wedding day, Elizabeth Park is a beautiful wedding backdrop. Keep in mind that a permit is required for professional photography in the park, so you’ll want to factor that into your wedding planning for sure.
The Cabin at Hilltop Garden at Wickham Park
At the top of the hill of Manchester’s Wickham Park is The Cabin at Hilltop Garden. Not only will you enjoy full use of this beautiful park for photos, but you’ll have an awesome view of downtown Hartford from the venue itself during your wedding.
Wedding Venues Near Hartford, Connecticut
Greater Hartford is one of our state’s most industrious areas. Therefore, there are tons of great places to get married near (but not in) the capital city, too. Here are some ideas for wedding venues near Hartford.
The Barns at Wesleyan Hills
Maybe the epitome of the elegant barn wedding venue, The Barns at Wesleyan Hills is a trip (that means it’s really, really good). Located in Middletown, there’s a sizeable landscape with willow trees and a small pond to take advantage of. Perhaps the main attraction of this venue, however, is the idea of partying the night away in front of the Big Barn’s Edison light wall.
The Glastonbury Boathouse
Glastonbury is the home to The Glastonbury Boathouse, a beautiful, private venue along the Connecticut River. Next door is Riverfront Park, providing plenty of photo ops.
The Webb Barn
Located at the Webb Deane Stevens Museum of Old Wethersfield, Webb Barn is one of the state’s most popular barn wedding venues. By the way, the nearby downtown area is just perfect.
